Piraeus Bank

Born: approx. 2014 | Height: 58 cm | Weight: 19 kg | Mix breed | Microchip No.: 941000017890103
Pepe is a sensitive soul — extremely intelligent and affectionate — but unfortunately not very lucky when it comes to his health.
In 2020, he developed a benign tumor on his front right leg, which was removed that same year. The biopsy showed a collagenous skin tag. Unfortunately, over the years the tumor reappeared and, due to its location and size, it could not be surgically removed.
Pepe began to suffer, and eventually, at the beginning of 2025, his leg had to be amputated. He is now a tripod dog and over the past year has had to adjust to his new reality. Today, however, Pepe runs again and smiles!
In addition, he has a heart murmur, which we monitor every six months with an ultrasound performed in Syros, as this service is not available on our island. For his heart condition, he follows a steady medication regimen.
We would love for you to support Pepe through virtual adoption by offering a monthly contribution toward his care and needs. Your support is not only financial — it is also an act of love. It means you are thinking of him, sending him strength from afar, and wishing that everything goes well for him.

He’s looking for humans who will understand him, guide him with love, and share adventures together.
Become part of his family through a virtual adoption. Every contribution brings him closer to the care and security he deserves.

Through a virtual adoption, you can be part of his life and help him live comfortably, with love and care.

Kylo – A sensitive dog who needs time and security
Born: approx. 2020 | Height: 35 cm | Weight: 15 kg | Mix | Microchip no.: 900163000256387
Kylo was found on the streets of a village with his mother. They both had a very difficult life, hunted by people who killed many of Kylo’s siblings. He survived by hiding all day and only coming out at night to find food in the trash. He is shy, insecure, and needs time and peace. Unfortunately, Kylo recently developed a vision problem for which he received treatment but needs regular monitoring.
Unfortunately, due to his particular character, Kylo has stayed with us a little longer than we would have liked, but that means we enjoy him a little more. However, our expenses are constantly increasing, and we would like to find virtual adoptions for this wonderful creature so that we can give him everything he needs.
By virtually adopting Kylo, you are supporting his care and giving him security and love even from afar.
Your patience is the greatest gift for Kylo.
Watch him evolve and glow in his photo album.

Big Ira – A brave soul who deserves nothing but love
Birth: approx. 2020 | Height: 60 cm | Weight: 28 kg | Breed: Mix | Microchip No.: 900219000581579
Big Ira is a wonderful half-breed German Shepherd who was found abandoned in Apeiranthos. For years she lived in intense pain from severe otitis. She underwent surgery and her right ear was completely removed, while the left is undergoing treatment. The tests showed cancer and the truth is we don’t know how much time she has left. She receives daily treatment and must be examined frequently to monitor the progress of her health.
And yet… Ira is an incredibly sweet, calm and people-oriented dog. She melts when you spend time with her, she loves hugs and has a soft spot for treats!
We try, as much as we can, to make every day special and beautiful for her, ensuring a life without pain and with lots of love.
Ira doesn’t ask for much. She asks for love, caresses and a family to give her beautiful moments — no matter how many they are.
By virtual adopting Big Ira, you support her medical expenses and the care she needs, giving her dignity, security and tenderness.
Let’s make her time full of love. Because every day with her is a gift.

She loves cuddles and human company when she feels safe. She is sociable with people she knows and really seems to be trying to make up for her years of loneliness as best she can. Unfortunately, no one has yet come forward to appreciate her uniqueness and adopt her, so our girl remains with us, enjoying her freedom, affection, and endless treats.
By virtually adopting Small Ira, you support her care and safety, giving her connection and love even from a distance.
Every little act of care for Small Ira is huge for her.

Rafaelo – A resilient soul fighting for a better future
Rafaelo was found at the end of December wandering like a ghost in the village of Filoti. A kind girl rescued him and fostered him for about a week before he came to our temporary care.
From the very beginning, we realized something was wrong. He appeared to have a vision disorder, and his behavior was like that of a dog with no life experience. He followed us but never ran to enjoy his freedom. He seemed afraid in a very unusual way and showed almost no emotions.
Two weeks later, we found him nearly unconscious after a severe epileptic seizure, followed by many more the same day. After his first veterinary visit in Naxos and the start of medication, further examination was strongly recommended.
Once treatment began, it was like meeting a completely different dog — active, ears up, making eye contact, finding his voice, and becoming more engaged with the world. As he started stabilizing he also began muzzle and harness training.
In mid-January, Rafaelo traveled to Syros with a volunteer escort to visit a veterinary clinic. He stayed there for two weeks and underwent extensive testing, including an abdominal ultrasound, brain CT scan, blood tests, and was also neutered. The diagnosis suggests a form of encephalitis, likely responsible for his vision problems and epileptic seizures.
Today, Rafaelo is back with us, stable and showing us an even sweeter, more open side of his character. We are by his side, fighting for his better future.
🙏 Please help us cover the significant medical expenses of Rafaelo’s journey — we cannot continue without your support.
Every donation, big or small, makes a real difference in Rafaelo’s life. Thank you for standing with him. ❤️🐾

Become LOMRI’s Virtual Parent
LOMRI is a 17kg girl, born in 2019 — a mix of strength and sensitivity. She was found at the airport, her heavy chain stuck on a dangerous fence. Terrified, defensive, snapping at anyone who came near her. But from that day until today… Lomri has made huge progress. She is an insecure but incredibly brave girl who tries every single day to overcome her fears.
Her sensitive nature is the reason why she still waits for us every day and is not in her own home, which is why we are asking for your support so that we can provide Lomri, as well as all the other animals, with everything they need. Like other animals at the shelter, Lomri needs to eat specialized food that adds to the already high costs, as well as supplements that are necessary to maintain her health. But whatever she needs, we will try to provide it.
Until she finds her forever home… You can be her support through virtual adoption. Support her journey. Give her safety. Be her person.

Become ROGER’s Virtual Parent
ROGER (born approx. 11/2018, microchip no. 941000023052043) is a stunning Pointer with all the classic traits of his breed!
Active. Social. Smart. Playful to the bone.
He absolutely adores people. Every time he meets a volunteer, he lights up with pure excitement. He lives for human connection and melts under gentle petting. He is truly human-centered — a dog who belongs by someone’s side.
When we found Roger, he was skin and bones. So thin and hungry he was just a few steps away from collapsing.
During his first months with us, he was protective over his food — because he knew what starvation felt like.
Now?
He knows he will never starve again.
And all he wants to do is play.
Like every Pointer, he loves exploring with his nose and hunting lizards. Another hound abandoned — probably because he “didn’t do his job well enough.”
But Roger is not a tool. He is a soul.
As the years go by, his body is wearing out and needs more care, nutritional supplements, and support, so his expenses are increasing more and more.
Until he finds his forever home…
Become his virtual parent.
Support his journey. Give him the second chance he truly deserves.
Roger is ready to give his whole heart.

There are dogs that were born to trust. And there are dogs that first learned to fear.
Czarny was found alone in the Alyko area of Naxos, among ruins and empty buildings. He always kept his distance. He watched people from afar. He only approached when he was sure that no one would hurt him. For weeks, volunteers went there every day. Not to catch him. But to show him that there are good people out there. When he finally put on a leash, it wasn’t because he was defeated. It was because he chose to trust.
Czarny is a sensitive, deeply wounded creature. He doesn’t like loud noises. He can’t stand loud noises. When you touch him abruptly, he curls up, as if trying to make himself smaller… as if remembering. And yet…With calm people, with those who give him space but also guidance, he relaxes. He goes for walks. He runs free in the fields. He chases lizards and butterflies like a puppy. That’s when his true self comes out.
Czarny is not an “easy” dog, which is why he has not yet been adopted. Why he needs a foster parent…Czarny needs time. He needs stability. He needs people who will not pressure him but will support him until he finds the right home in the countryside, away from noise and fireworks.
With a virtual adoption:
- His food and care are covered
- He is guaranteed the peace and quiet he so desperately needs
- He is given the time to continue learning that no one will ever hurt him again
Be the stability in Czarny’s life. Until he completely believes that he is safe.

Become QUERVO’s Virtual Parent
QUERVO (born approx. 01/2017, 29kg, microchip no. 941000023051820) is a one-of-a-kind dog with an enormous heart.
When he was found, he was skinny, hungry, exhausted — and one of his legs was badly injured. And yet…Quervo chose love. He is incredibly sweet and friendly with everyone he meets. Completely human-centered, he adores cuddles and affection. Every single day he welcomes us with huge enthusiasm — and then it’s playtime! He wants to be next to you. On the sofa. Looking into your eyes. Feeling safe.
Quervo has a cruciate ligament rupture in his back left leg. He shouldn’t run abruptly or jump from high places. He must not run fast or jump from heights, which is why he needs to take expensive, specialized supplements. He has also undergone surgery to remove a tumor from one of his legs. We never regretted the expense, no matter how difficult our financial situation was, no matter how much it cost us… But he will absolutely enjoy nature walks and the warmth of a loving home.
He is a strong dog with a puppy heart. Loyal, devoted, looking straight into your eyes and filling you with love.
A volunteer even created his own Facebook page to help him find a home — that’s how lovable he is.
Until he finds his human… Become his virtual parent. Support him. Be his safe place.

“70 centimeters of pure cuddle… who has never lived inside a home.”
YURI (02/2017, 35kg, 70cm, Labrador mix, microchip no. 941000021238302) is a white gentle giant with a puppy heart.
He melts into your arms. Leans his whole body against you as if saying:
“I’m here. Hold me.”
And yet… He has never known a sofa. Never fallen asleep in a living room. Never lived inside a house.
He was found as a tiny puppy at night on a main road in Naxos, running terrified between cars. A miracle he survived.
Today he is sensitive, tender, human-centered — needing a calm environment and time to adjust. The passage of time has taken its toll on his health, and that is why our boy needs very expensive and specialized clinical food and supplements. For this reason, the boy’s monthly expenses are quite high, and we need as much support as possible to cope.
He dreams of countryside walks. A garden to run in. A quiet home to finally feel safe. Until his forever home comes, you can become his virtual parent. Be the reason he believes the world can be kind.

Poetic / “Letter from Jerry”
Dear human,
I don’t know much about the world outside the shelter.
But I know what safety feels like when you look into my eyes.
I know warmth when you let me lie next to you on the sofa.
As a puppy, I ran terrified in the middle of the road.
Only luck saved me.
I was so small… and so scared.
Today, I am calm and gentle.
I love cuddles, sunlight, nature, life beside humans who understand me.
I don’t ask for much.
A little patience. A little love. A quiet, warm home.
I have hip dysplasia, but it doesn’t stop me.I also had surgery for a twisted stomach and was literally saved at the last minute thanks to the vigilance and self-sacrifice of the volunteers who rushed me to the doctor. Like my brother, I have to eat very expensive, specialized clinical food and take daily supplements so that I can move comfortably and without pain.
Become my virtual parent until I find my forever home.
With love,
Jerry

Hello, my friend…
My name is Bertie. I was found alone on a beach, searching for food and a little attention. I was alone, but I knew somewhere out there, a human would understand me.
Today, I am strong and playful, but inside I carry tenderness and love. I love to play, run, jump, and chase my toy. I love human company. Every touch fills me with joy. I live with Lomri now and enjoy having company, but I dream of a family who will understand me, guide me, and give me time to socialize.
I don’t ask for much…Just someone who will respect and love me. Someone to play with, care for me, and make me feel safe. Until I find my forever home, you can become my virtual parent. It’s enough to know someone cares about me.
With love,
Bertie

Hello…
My name is Lia,.My life changed suddenly when my family was gone.
Together with my brother, Kanelos, we lived in cages in a field — no cuddles, no play, no safety.
At first, I was scared of everything — people, traffic, sudden movements, loud noises. It took time to start trusting. Every gentle touch, every walk on a leash gives me courage. Today I can play with calm, social dogs and I am learning to enjoy life more. Someone to guide me with patience, love, and safety.
I don’t ask for much…Just someone to understand me, love me, and show me that the world can be safe.

❤️ Joscha and his siblings were abandoned in 2020 in a remote area of Agiasos, at about 3 months old.
They were all fearful and impossible to catch in the open area, so volunteers had to bring water and food daily until a trap could be set. The effort took several days.
All of his siblings were adopted, but little Joscha was more traumatized and fearful, and his adoption remains extremely difficult.
Despite this, his progress is remarkable: he now trusts touch and affection, and goes on short walks with guidance.

Meet Gigis – From Chains to Care 💛
Born: approx. 2012 | Mix |
Gigis was only 5–6 years old when a family friend “trained” him with violence. After that, even his owners couldn’t handle him. He was chained to the ground with a 1-meter chain, inside a 1-meter high fenced area with no door, no shade, and surrounded by garbage and his own waste.
A brave volunteer spent days gaining his trust and finally managed to cut the chain and bring him to safety. Gigis was terrified and highly protective, but step by step, he is learning to feel safe again.
Today, he enjoys soft blankets, gentle petting, and is slowly discovering the joy of human companionship. Over the past few months, we’ve been able to take him on walks in our exercise area, and he’s becoming more relaxed, playful, and confident every day.
Through virtual adoption, you can provide Gigis with food, medical care, comfort, and the love he has longed for. Be part of giving him the peaceful, happy life he deserves. 💛
