Sponsor a Feeding Station

Please help us by sponsoring a feeding station which costs us between 60 and 80 euros per month depending on the size of the station. . Can you help us towards our total by giving a monthly donation of 10, 20 or 30 euro?

Choose one of the feeding stations below. Each month you contribute 10, 20 or €30, which covers part of the cost of food and medical care for that station. For this reason, more than one person can be a sponsor of each feeding station. You can also offer a feeding station sponsorship as a gift to someone you love who would like to help a stray animal. Once the process is completed, you will receive a certificate with the name of the feeding station you are sponsoring. You will also receive a monthly update and news  via the email address you provided. We thank you for your contribution to the Naxos community.

Procedure

After making your decision and choosing a feeding station please email us at filozwikinaxou@gmail.com and we can organize the details.

NAWS Cat Feeding Station at Agios Thalaleos

The quiet, powerful impact of caring.

In the village of Agios Thalaleos, something truly special is happening.

Right beside the Special Education Elementary School, a NAWS feeding station has quietly cared for over 25 stray cats for the past three years. This feeding station is lovingly run by a dedicated NAWS volunteer and a teacher at the school. Every day, they ensure these once-forgotten cats have food, safety, and medical care.

But two of these cats have become something even more extraordinary.

Because of their calm and gentle nature, they are welcomed into the school yard, where they help support the children’s emotional development. Their presence creates a peaceful, comforting atmosphere, helping students feel relaxed, focused, and safe. These cats encourage empathy, emotional connection, and responsibility — offering a unique kind of therapy that words alone cannot provide.

It is deeply moving to see cats who once struggled alone on the streets now nurtured, loved, and able to give back in such a meaningful way. Their journey is a reminder of what compassion can do — not only transforming their lives, but enriching the lives of the children who care for them.

By sponsoring this Feeding Station for 10, 20 or 30 euro per month you are helping cats but also contributing to the healing community at the Special Education School.

NAWS Cat Feeding Stations at Mikri Vigla and Orkos

Our feeding stations in Mikri Vigla (two locations) and Orkos (two locations) care for between 15 and 30 cats at each site, we monitor the cats, sterilize, feed and provide  veterinary support since they were first established in 2019.

Set beside Naxos’ beautiful windsurfing beaches, these stations are often supported by visiting tourists who stop to help feed and cuddle the cats — including the well-known local favorite, Tigger the Taverna Cat (yes, you can find him on Google and meet him in person).

Sponsoring one of these feeding stations helps cover the ongoing costs of food and medical care and ensures these beach cats remain safe, healthy, and cared for all year round. Will you help us with our costs by  sponsoring one of these stations?

NAWS Cat Feeding Station at Agia Anna

The NAWS feeding station at the Agia Anna cedar tree is one of our very first stations, set up around 2018. When we first began working in the area, we noticed many of the local cats were in poor condition. We started trapping them so they could be sterilised and receive veterinary care. Once the cats were healthy and sterilised, we created a safe feeding station so they would always have regular food and support.

Today, this has become one of our most well-known feeding stations. It sits on the beautiful beach of Agia Anna, where visitors and tourists often pass by. The cats have become part of the local beach life — happily greeting people and enjoying the occasional cuddle from friendly visitors.

During the busy summer months, the cats are regular characters around the nearby beach tavernas, and many tourists come to know them by name. They have become a small but special part of the Agia Anna experience.

This is one of our largest feeding stations, and it takes a lot of care and regular monitoring to make sure all the cats stay healthy and well looked after. Luckily, the station is tucked among the beach cedar trees, which provide shelter and protection from the wind and winter weather.

Sponsoring one of these feeding stations helps cover the ongoing costs of food and medical care and ensures these beach cats remain safe, healthy, and cared for all year round. Will you help us with our costs by  sponsoring one of these stations?
